Founders of Cure Honored

Neal Bodenheimer & Kirk Estopinal Named Co-Ambassadors of Tales of the Cocktail® 2012

The Founders of Cure and Bellocq have helped usher in a new era of mixology in New Orleans.

New Orleans, LA – Tales of the Cocktail®, the world’s premier cocktail festival, is proud to announce Neal Bodenheimer and Kirk Estopinal as Co-Ambassadors for Tales of the Cocktail® 2012. Over years, Bodenheimer, Estopinal and all of the bartenders of Cure and Bellocq have been loyal supporters of Tales of the Cocktail®, providing event space, hosting meetings, creating special cocktails for this year’s festival and much more.

“I don’t think we’ve ever heard the word ‘No’ from these guys,” said Ann Tuennerman, Founder of Tales of the Cocktail. “Their impact on both the local cocktail community and our greater New Orleans community as a whole is immeasurable.”

Bodenheimer and Estopinal are both New Orleans natives who spent time training in other renowned cocktail cities (Bodenheimer  in New York, Estopinal in Chicago) only to return home in 2009 to open Cure. In a short time, the bar has developed a national reputation for creating world-class cocktails and consistently mentioned as one of the country’s best bars. Cure was also one of the first businesses to invest in what is now the vibrant Freret Street corridor. The duo’s success with Cure prompted them to open their second venture, Bellocq, located in the Hotel Modern.
