Please join us for the inaugural “Freret Street Oyster Jam”, a celebration of bivalves during their seasonal peak, on January 19th from 11am-9pm at the Freret St Publiq House and adjacent parking lot @ 4526 Freret St. Presenting a Day of Salty Louisiana Oysters, New Orleans Roots Music, Oyster Inspired Art, & Playoff Football.

THIS EVENT IS ALL AGES AND FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!!
THE FOOD:… This event, the first of its kind in uptown New Orleans, will feature a giant raw oyster bar featuring some of uptown’s most iconic shuckers including: -Michael Rogers-5-time Champ-formerly of Uglesich’s -Vinny D, the man, the myth, the legend from Cooter Brown’s -Thomas, the maestro of Pascale’s Manale And the soon to be famous oyster shooters by Two Girls and a Shuck! We will also be serving multiple oyster dishes and other delicacies brought to you by Woody’s Fish Tacos and friends including Miss Linda Green, Chef Jerry Harkins of Clancy’s and Po-Boy Fest award winners Jason Seither of Seither’s Seafood and “King of the Drunken Pig” Sven Vorkauf.
THE MUSIC Our Musical Guests will include: The “salty” grooves of Raw Oyster Cult The unusual excellence of The New Orleans Suspects & The majesty of the Mardi Gras Indian Orchestra plus special guest MC
THE ART One of a kind works of oyster-inspired original art from local artists including: Michael Guidry Pompadour Productions
THE FOOTBALL The games to determine who plays in the Superbowl will be taking place on this day. They will be shown. To what extent we are all paying attention remains to be seen. Stay tuned on this one.
THE VENUE The “Freret Street Oyster Jam” will take advantage of the giant parking lot located adjacent to the Freret St Publiq House as well as the lovely spacious new club. The oysters, food, music, and plenty of beer will flow all day long during the event outside in the parking lot and inside the club will be a full bar to satisfy all your thirsts complete with heat to escape the elements, televisions to root on your favorite team, and clean/spacious bathrooms.
The date of the first annual “Freret Street Oyster Jam” corresponds with the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Come out and get carnival season rolling with us on Freret Street NOLA Style. See Y’all on the 19th!
